Commuters participating in Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 16, are invited to visit one of five “pit stop” locations as they pass through the City of Carlsbad from 6 to 9 a.m. The Carlsbad Village pit stop is sponsored by the City of Carlsbad and is located at the north end of the seawall at Frazee Beach at Carlsbad Boulevard.

Bike to Work Day is a nationwide effort that’s organized regionally by SANDAG. It promotes bicycling as a healthy, economical and environmentally friendly commute choice. While supplies last, participants will receive snacks, beverages and other giveaways at the pit stops.

The City of Carlsbad booth features the city’s Public Works staff, and the Economic Development Division’s Life in Action® campaign, highlighting the city’s location and businesses as an ideal choice for those who balance career aspirations to change the world with personal goals to pursue an active lifestyle.

“The City of Carlsbad encourages those who live and work in and around the city to join neighbors, friends, and coworkers in celebrating Bike to Work Day with us,” said Craig Williams, City of Carlsbad senior engineer. “Bike to Work is a perfect fit for the healthy lifestyle enjoyed by so many in Carlsbad.”
